Auto Notification
An OpenEdit site will email out notification of any edits that are happening on a site. This helps everyone keep up with ongoing changes.Set Up
1. Check the permissions.- Click the "Account Manager".
- Select the "administrators" group.
- Check the "Notification" permission.
- Any member of the administrators group will now recieve the notifications.
- This permission can be enabled for any groups you would like to recieve notifications.
2. Check the Scheduler.
- Click the "Manage Site" link on the OE Admin Toolbar.
- Click the "Scheduler" link in the Web Site Manager box.
- You need the following path set as a Scheduled Action: "/openedit/notification/notification-finish.html".
- The period value defines how often the notifications will be sent, and can be set to whatever you like.
- Normally this would be set to "1d" (1 day). This means that every 24 hours from the time the web app is started it will send out notifications.
3. Configure the Host Name.
- Click the "File Manager" link on the OE Admin Toolbar.
- Click on the "_site.xconf" file in the root directory of your webapp.
- Change the following line, substituting your correct domain.
4. Formatting
- You can edit the formatting of the notification email.
- Go to the "File Manager" from the OE Admin Toolbar.
- Navigate to "/openedit/notification/notification_layout.html".
- Go to the Editing Menu (The pencil icon in the top right corner of the File Manager.
- Select the "Text Editor" and make any changes you want to the layout.
- Save using the disk icon.
